The new normal

Here’s how we can assist your business.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting our lives in many ways and the situation continues to evolve rapidly. Our priority is keeping everyone safe and well and providing certainty at this stressful time.

Students who attend AEC Tutors for lessons and private exams – AEC tutors are now resuming lessons whilst following government guidelines on social distancing. There will be a resit opportunity in Autumn 2020 for students who are not happy with their centre assessed grades that were awarded in Summer 2020 or were not able to get a centre assessed grade in Summer 2020 but intended on sitting the exams.

All of the exam boards have now officially cancelled the upcoming exams in May/June 2020. You may be aware the Department for Education has decided that they will use students predicted grades and information from their teachers to award them a fair grade. However, this method will be difficult for students who have entered for exams privately as we have not closely worked with the students so are not able to provide the exam boards with accurate and fair information.

The Department for Education is working closely with all of the exam boards and the government to try and produce a way to award students who have been entered for exams at private exam centres a fair grade but as of now we have no further information on how they are planning on doing this.

The exam boards have said that there will be opportunities to sit exams in the Autumn term when schools re-open as well as in Summer 2021.
